I am currently producing a range of slip casted, ceramic pieces, initially inspired by the forms and precision of musical instruments. I have developed a range of strikingly coloured glazes to compliment these simple forms which I spray over wire.
The wire creates a continual line around each piece, which runs and rusts through the glaze during firing giving each piece a unique finish. Onto some of the pieces I add coloured inks around the broken up wire to pick out the crackle in the glazed surface. These pieces are purely decorative and due to the nature of the glaze do not hold water. I also produce greetings cards, a small range of ceramic jewellery and Christmas decorations.
