



Jennifer graduated from Cumbria Institute of the Arts in 2004 with a First Class Honours Degree in Contemporary Applied Arts. After securing a Creative Industries Start-Up Grant from Preston City Council in 2006, she went on to set up her own studio and was involved in numerous school and community projects across Lancashire and Greater Manchester. On returning to Cumbria a few years later, Jennifer completed a PGCE and enjoyed a15 year career in secondary education teaching Art and Textiles. A break from teaching 2024 lead her back to the University of Cumbria where she completed an MA in Creative Practice.

Jennifer is inspired by the natural landscape and the changing seasons. Her newer work focuses on human relationships with and experiences of nature, exploring the contrast between man-made objects and the natural environments they were found in She responds in clay, paint and found materials combining a variety of techniques to produce both 2 and 3 dimensional work.
